Our certificates – 
making commitment visible

This certificate was developed specifically for properties that have little or no green space. These may include, for example, buildings in city centers or in completely impervious industrial areas. It is also suitable for properties in the planning phase and for existing properties.

• Calculation of the required new natural area to offset your impervious surfaces.
• Planning and implementation of the new natural area in cooperation with local partners.
• Technical support for local partners provided by Get Nature Positive to ensure the highest possible quality.
• If desired: Visibility and communication of your commitment through our channels (web, social media).
• Ensuring the long-term viability and required quality of the new natural areas through regular monitoring for at least 20 years.
• Independent certification: audited by a certification body to ensure transparency and credibility.

• No protected habitats or species populations will be destroyed (applies only to new construction).
• The unsealed, green area accounts for less than 10% of the parcel or parcels.
• The sealed area is fully offset by new nature areas.

Requirements for the new nature areas:  

• The new nature areas are located in Switzerland.
• The size of the new wildlife areas corresponds to 120% of the sealed area. This includes a time factor that takes into account the fact that the newly created habitats often do not reach their full ecological value until after 5–10 years.
• The nature areas are created by Get Nature Positive in collaboration with local partners.
• Compensation through nature areas implemented by the investor or developer themselves is also permitted.

Certification regulation

Validity Period

Depending on the nature project, the Get Nature Positive 100 certificate is valid for 20 to 25 years.

This means that Get Nature Positive ensures the quality and preservation of the new nature areas for a period of at least 20 to 25 years.

Scope of Validity

Get Nature Positive certificates always apply to a specific property and not to the entire company or its products.

A one-time payment of CHF 20 per square meter of sealed area or a customized land compensation subscription (excluding VAT).

The payment includes:

• the costs associated with creating the new natural areas (use of machinery, plants, seeds, other materials, and the project partners’ fees),
• all services provided by Get Nature Positive,
• and quality assurance for the new natural areas for at least 20 years.

Properties with a “Get Nature Positive 100” certificate may receive a “Get Nature Positive Premium” certificate at a later date. The condition for this is that the proportion of green space reaches at least 10% through land-unsealing projects and that the green space has an average ecological quality of at least 3 biotope values. An improvement over the initial condition is not required (similar to existing properties). Certification fees apply.

With the Get Nature Positive 30|30 Certificate, you make a concrete contribution to achieving the UN’s 30 by 30 goal and receive data that can be used as part of a TNFD disclosure (LEAP process).

• Calculation of the required new natural area to offset 30% of your impervious surfaces.
• Planning and implementation of the new nature area in cooperation with local partners.
• Technical support for local partners provided by Get Nature Positive to ensure the highest possible quality.
• If desired: Visibility and communication of your commitment through our channels (web, social media)
• Ensuring the long-term viability and required quality of the new nature areas through regular monitoring over 20 to 25 years.
• Analysis of biodiversity on your property
• Monitoring & support as a partner by your side – quality assurance during the first two years following certification
• Independent certification – audit by a certification body to ensure transparency and credibility

• No protected habitats or species populations will be destroyed (applies only to new construction).
• The unpaved, green area accounts for at least 10% of the parcel or parcels.
• 30% of the sealed area of the property is offset by new nature areas.
• 30% of the green space on the property achieves an ecological quality of at least 4.0 biotope values.

Requirements for the new nature areas:

• The new natural areas are located in Switzerland.
• The size of the new natural areas corresponds to 120% of the area to be offset. This includes a time factor that takes into account the fact that the newly created habitats often do not reach their full ecological value until after 5–10 years.
• The natural areas are created by Get Nature Positive in collaboration with local partners.
• Compensation through natural areas implemented by the investor or developer themselves is also permitted.

Certification regulation

Our certificates are checked by two independent organizations using the dual control principle:

• ARNAL - Büro für Natur und Landschaft AG checks whether the requirements of the current certification regulations are met for each certification.
• This audit is verified in a second step by the Eastern Switzerland University of Applied Sciences OST, ILF Institute for Landscape and Open Space.

This procedure ensures the quality and transparency of our certificates.

Validity Period

The Get Nature Positive 30|30 certification is valid for 5 years from the date of initial certification. After that, it can be extended for additional 5-year periods through on-site recertification of the green spaces. 
If recertification is not pursued, the certificate will be revoked. However, the established natural area will remain in place regardless. 

Scope of Validity

Get Nature Positive certificates always refer to a specific property and not to the entire company or its products.

The cost of the Get Nature Positive 30|30 certificate consists of the cost of offsetting sealed areas plus a flat-rate certification fee for your own green spaces:

• For offsetting sealed areas: a one-time payment of CHF 20 per square meter of sealed area to be offset, or a customized area offset subscription.
• For the certification of your property’s green spaces: a certification fee of CHF 5,000
• The property is recertified after 5 years. The recertification fee is CHF 3,000.
• Prices exclude VAT.

Properties with a “Get Nature Positive 30│30” certificate may receive a “Get Nature Positive Premium” certificate at a later date. This is contingent upon an additional 70% of the sealed area being offset by nature projects and the quality of the total green space averaging a biotope value of 3 (similar to existing properties). Area- and certification fees apply.

• Planning and implementation of the new nature area in cooperation with local partners.
• Technical support for local partners by Get Nature Positive to ensure the best possible quality.
• If desired: visibility and communication of your commitment via our channels (web, social media).
• Ensuring the long-term existence and required quality of the new nature areas through regular monitoring over 20 to 25 years.

Additional premium services: 

• Analysis of biodiversity before and after improvement of green spaces.
• Expert advice – support in the planning of biodiversity measures within a defined scope.
• Monitoring & support as your partner – quality assurance in the first two years after certification.
• Independent certification – review by certification body for transparency & credibility. 

• No protected habitats or species populations will be destroyed during construction.
• The sealed area will be completely offset by new nature areas.
• The property's surroundings achieve the required ecological quality of Ø 3.0 biotope values.
• The redesigned surroundings are ecologically more valuable than the original state (Δ 0.5 biotope values). If the quality of the surroundings already amounts to Ø 4 biotope values or more, no upgrading is required.

Requirements for the new nature areas:  

• The new nature areas are located in Switzerland.
• The size of the new nature areas corresponds to 120% of the sealed area. This includes a time factor that takes into account the fact that the newly created habitats often only reach their full ecological value after 5–10 years.
• The nature areas will be created by Get Nature Positive together with local partners.
• Compensation through natural areas implemented by the investor/builder themselves is also permitted.
